We have officially released WB News v1.4.1. This new version has several bug fixes, we suggest all upgrade to this to get the benefits of the upgrade. There are no security fixes in this release so it is not mandatory that you upgrade. The sourceforge version will be uploaded within the next few days.

A New Year

A little late in saying so as its already Febuary but its a New year and its going to be quite a big year ahead. Within the next few days a bug fix to v1.4.0 will be released there are several fixes most of these are minor fixes and there are no security fixes.

Later this year we are looking at hopefully putting the first of very many Beta's of version 2. There are some major internal changes within the system and hopefully we will have a Rich Text Editor built and stable across all supporting browsers. There is still time to list improvements you would like to see in this up coming version. On a minor note the current forum system will be changing over within the next few months we are hoping before May/June (so a fair way off).

I hope the year so far has been good to all.

Belated v1.4.0 Release

WB News v1.4.0 is finally released it is a few weeks over schedule which is only due to time constraints. There are a few important bug fixes including spam filtering and some handy additions such as mass delete comments. This will be the last release of the year and the last major version of 1.x, there will be bug fixes and minor improvements but nothing too dramatic. The next release phase v2.x has officially started and hopefully be ready by mid next year as there are a lot of major changes including templating system rewrite and usergroup rewrites.

I am looking at trying to release v1.4.0 hopefully this weekend there is still some testing to do. This version is not a major upgrade from 1.3 but it does include a couple of bug fixes. From now on 1.4.x version will be updated primarily for bug fixes and minor changes, as it is the last version before v2.0 which is in development, westill taking suggestions for this version and we will close it off soon so please make any suggestions quickly.

I am happy to announce that v1.3.0 is now available to be downloaded it has a lot of bugs fixes and general changes which will make WB News easier to use, we recommend all upgrade as soon as possible.

Today is also the 2yr mark of WB News. Today 2yrs ago v0.0.1 aka v0.01 was released. The news system has changed a lot since then and we hope to make sure it improves into the future.

I have recently registered Webmobo.Org which points to Webmobo.com. The main reason was to show that projects here are Open Source and non-profit, which .com gives the exact opposite impression. You can update your bookmarks to the .org address however both .com and .org will funciton the same.

Upcoming Release

The next upcoming release is v1.3.0, will hopefully be released next week although we are a long way off to completion. Next week is of importance to Webmobo as it is 2yrs of WB News. Thats right next Friday 2nd June will be exactly 2yrs since the very first release of WB News v0.0.1 (or previously known as v0.01). I am hoping that the release will be finished and tested and ready to go out the door on this date but like I previously said there are a lot of things still to be done.

A noticable miss will be the restructuring of the Usergroup system, the reason for this is the actual changes were going to affect more than the Usergroup System. A few bug fixes will also appear in this release one being Windows fix as some Windows Installations do not work. A patch will also be issued for those of previous versions to upgrade correctly. For those interested changes that have already been made are available in CVS although downloading from CVS is at a "Use at your own Risk"

WB News v1.2.2

WB News v1.2.2 has finally been released there was only the one bug fix which made it into this release. A Windows patch+fix was also suppose to be in this release however I have yet to finish it and this needed to be released ASAP. There was suppose to be a Bug Release released earlier in the week however CVS has had some issues and at the moment have no access to it on this computer to update and release. I have started up subversion and put an updated version of v1.2.1 in the repository. I will also update the Demo website to the latest version which will be v1.2.2 when its released later today.

A windows patch fix which was suppose to be issued in this release has kind of been put off due to this issue, it will be fixed before v1.3.0 however.

I have just released v1.2.1 this update has several bug fixes including MySQL 5 table aliases this release should be the first release that supports MySQL 5 correctly please make sure you submit bugs for this issue. Some other fixes include

Send to friend undefined variable
DTD file for WBSML added and path corrected
Comments user could add XSS code which would affect usability and system security.
Fixed RSS Feed with only validating against & and < characters to display CDATA

There are several more fixes included.

Another bug which although is yet to be tested if it affects WB News has been brought to my attention just prior to this release. I will be testing to see if it does affect WB News and if so what it actually affects.

Just a reminder that WB News is now in CVS, there currently isn't any anonymous access, I am working on this and there are a few things which still need to be sorted out. I'll post back when there is more to say.

Bug Fix to be released

There have been a few bugs reported some that were reported before the release of v1.2.0 but didn't make the deadline to be fixed. I am aiming at releasing this just after Easter. There are a few bugs that deal with security which are not critical. Also MySQL 5 and table Aliases will be fixed for this release, there have been several Emails as well as requests on the forums about the issue of MySQL 5 and Queries not running correctly.

I also have WB News set up as a project on sourceforge its been on for almost a Month now and will be this weekend adding files there ready for development for v1.3.0.

Just to finish off have been asked to give a TODO/Roadmap list of what will be happening over the next few versions so I will release this shortly as there is one available just not to the public.

WB News v1.2.0 has finally been released it is not a be upgrade compared to most with a lot of proposed features put back to a later release, please remember to upgrade as soon as possible as well as report any Bugs so they can be fixed.

I am also happy to announce that we have Subversion server now located on Sourceforge.net. It will allow WB News to finally have a central repository for source code, as well as better allow other developers the chance to participate in the development of WB News.

Progress has been a lot slower than usual for v1.2.0. I was hoping to have this version out last week, however a few things have forced to delay the release. I plan to now have it released late this week, early the following week. This will be the last version offering support to 0.8.0 and 0.9.0 as it is quite old now and WB News has changed quite a bit since.

Its highly recommended that when it is released all users upgrade as soon as possible, as it has a few Bug Fixes and additional functionality. I am also looking for 1 or 2 Developers to help out with the project. Previously there was 3 however due to personal commitments can no longer help out. Feel free to contact myself via the Support Link or even the forums if you wish to help out, please make sure you leave some way to be able to be contacted. I will post something later on about what skills you should have and what will be happening.

WB News v1.1.1 is now available. It fixes many bugs one being extremely critical, it is highly recommended that all upgrade to this version immediately. Currently the site is being upgraded, unfortunately I accidently removed some incorrect templates and Commenting will not work properly for the time being, I am trying to recover some old backups of them but this will take a bit of time. Where Back Up

We did some server maintanance which is not yet completed however we have put both the Forums, Demo, Beta and main website back online. I have upgraded the WB News system on both Demo and the main site we are now using the latest version. The delay was due to some modifications needed to additional scripts which use both sites.

Both sites have been tested to make sure they work correctly however there is no guarantee set ups are 100%, so if you do get an error or something like that please let me know so it can be fixed as soon as possible.

Also development again will begin in a couple of days, have taken some time off due the Christmas and New Year which I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable one.

Downtime Tomorrow

In roughly 12-14hrs time from now there will be a few hours of down time. We will be putting up v1.1.0 for the current site, currently we are running 0.9.0 but use additional administrative features which have only recently become ready to be put online. We will also be updating the Demo site with v1.1.0. This downtime will last roughly 3-4hrs. Downloads will be made available and the Forum will still be online.

WB News v1.1.0 has just been released, there are a few new features added such as the ability to add extra BBCode, without needing to update code after each new release. Also news UID/GID permissions are now set to make sure the user can modify the news article if it belongs to them or they are from a group which is higher ranked than the user that created the article.

This release is also the last release of the year excluding Bug fix releases. With this we want to wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

2006 will be a big year for Webmobo with many changes to be made early in the new year. We would like to thank Micheal who has only recently had to leave Webmobo due to other commitments. Micheal has been a big help with getting a lot of versions out as quickly and recently due to commitments has taken on a smaller role with Bug fixing and testing. We would like to thank Micheal for the help he has given over the past year and a half.

WB News v1.0.2 Released

This is long overdue this bug fix. We finally have v1.0.2 released to the public after a few major fixes were required, we suggest anyone that has not already upgraded to v1 to upgrade using this, it is suggested that all users upgrade to this version however any user still using 0.8.0 or 0.9.0 or earlier versions should upgrade to this version remembering that 0.8.0 and 0.9.0 are the only pre-version 1.0 versions that are supported by the new upgrade system.

A few critical bugs found

Today we have discovered a few critical bugs with the upgrading of the news table throwing database errors. Another bug is also found for any user adding extra menu sections and menus in that section where the a Database error would occur.

These are two critical bugs and we are not 100% sure yet on how many users this may be affecting we will be pushing another bug fix within the next couple of days, we highly recommend any user wishing to upgrade to wait until version 1.0.2 is out. These two bugs will only affect users upgrading and not installing, so it is still safe to install, any user that has v1.0.0 or v1.0.1 who has already upgraded or new install will not need to download v1.0.2 as this is only a bug fix for the upgrade system itself not the news system and administration.

WB News v1.0.1 Released

A minor bug has been found, the bug is related to use the displayNews method with the parameter all. The all parameter is suppose to display all news regardless of if the news was in a category, this bug affects users wanting to use this without using the setCategory method. Although it is minor and for some it will be insignificant fix it is still suggested that all users upgrade as soon as possible.

Users using v1.0.0 currently will only need to overwrite the following files

mainNews.php
news.php

They will also need to upload the install directory so they can upgrade the config.php file.

WB News v1.0.0 Release

We have been in Beta for over 1month now and finally we are ready to announce that WB News v1.0.0 is now officially released you can now download this version in the WB News downloads.

There is quite a few changes made from v0.9.0 and all users are highly suggested to upgrade, it fixes bugs that were only just found and present in v0.0.5 with the Send to Friend system. You must be in at least v0.8.0 to upgrade, the upgrade and installation system will detect as usual and allow for better upgrading. Users from the Beta this will not allow you to upgrade correctly. So please wait for a post in the forum or Beta section for the upgrade instructions.

Users upgrading before uploading will need to make sure they remove the config.php file from the archive they download, as it will overwrite any existing settings and of course attempt to re-install the entire system. A full change log of all betas and including this new version are available in the CHANGELOG file.

Although this has been thoroughly tested on my different platforms and settings that there will be no Bugs. Please make sure you continue to report any Bugs found within the system.

We are happy to announce that WB News Beta 3 is now officially available for Download. There were only a couple of bugs needing to be fixed from Beta 2. This Beta will now last 1 week and hopefully we can release the official version 1.0.0 to the public.

We would like to thank the beta testers who have participated thus far, we still require more for Beta 3 to help make sure there is virtually zero bugs in WB News. There is only one known bug that still exists and we are doing our best to make a fix as soon as possible and hopefully have it ready to be put into the official release.

Yes we have almost made it, WB News v1.0.0 is almost about to be released however will go through a quick and crucial Beta Phase which will last 3 stages. Currently work is being done on the new Install and Upgrade System which will of course allow users from previous versions to upgrade, however
support will start at version 0.8.0 which is where the final big changes took place. Beta 1 is an online testing Beta which we will be looking for users to submit any cosmetic or obvious mistakes in the system, a testing site will be available when it is complete.

Beta 1 should hopefully be online and available on 6th October which is next week. There are still two major testing phases to do and still complete the new Install and Upgrade System.

WB News development progress is still in full swing, we are still getting some ideas thrown around to add, take out of WB News, there is still a lot of development to go this doesn't include testing. However we have come up with a schedule for Public release.

6th October 2005 - Beta 1, will allow any user to view the On-line Beta, no downloads for users as of this release
20th October 2005 - Beta 2, this will be available for download however as like most Betas we suggest this be used not as production
27th October 2005 - Beta 3, this should be the final of the Betas again like all Betas not to be used as production, however we highly suggest that you test this with pre-existing installation of WB News
3rd November 2005 - Public Release 1.0.0

Unfortunately this schedule has been changed as some may know we wanted a July/August release unfortunately due to some critical errors and last minute additions and redundant features removed this has delayed our efforts.

To keep everyone up to date on the progress of v1.0.0, we are currently getting developers, and users to run v0.9.0 help in firstly making WB News easier to use and Install, improvements to specific parts of WB News, efficency and many other areas. Hopefully with this feedback we can try and keep to our goal of making WB News firstly easy to use, small yet feature rich and built for webmaster and its users.

We also have a new WYSIWYG Editor in development which is looking really good unfortunately browser support isnt all there just yet and we will be trying to optimize this as much as possible and to work on as many browsers at the moment Safari and Opera users cannot use this new WYSIWYG Editor however we have built an alternative, which all browsers can use.

So if your a WB News user feel free to post comments on improvements requried for WB News or post over in the forums under Suggestions you do not even need to register to post in this forum.

We have now just added a Demo of WB News which hosts v0.9.0 not all features are enabled as of yet, we plan to in future add features such as News Search, Archives and Users

We were offline for short while, as the web account was suspended, we are now back online.

A few updates as we have not had many in a while.

Our forum which will replace the PHPBB forum is getting close to being ready for testing still a few things to completed and testing. WB News 1.0.0 has started to really pick up speed in development, there is quite a lot to still do and we expect a Beta to be released sometime late July the very earliest.

WB News 0.8.0 Delay

As of some unexpected circumstances WB News 0.8.0 will be delayed. The reason for the delay is due to Testing Phase not yet complete. We are sorry for the delay and as of this time we are yet to have any confirmation on when it will be ready however we are aiming for within the next week.

Site Maintenance

We have successfully fixed the IE bug within the site which displayed contents and structure of the site incorrectly users of Firefox (All Mozilla browsers), Opera should have not recognized this bug.

Unfortunately this fix is only a work around using Javascript, so some users of IE browsers and IE-related browsers may still see the incorrect display of the site if Javascript is off, or IE header changes are made. We will be in future looking for a proper fix however at this point in time we are quite busy getting next WB News version complete and tested.

No v0.6.0

Yes we aren't doing a v0.6.0 of WB News there wasn't enough to make it an official version so we are going straight to v0.8.0 which will have some nice additions for a lot of users. We expect there to be a final version before 1.0.0 which will remove all bugs in this release phase.

Brief Road map
This release will hopefully be around Mid April, and probably 2-4 weeks later the last of this release phase v0.9.0 will come out. v1.0.0 will have at least 1 Release Candidate (RC) phase before we go to Official 1.0.0. There are some big changes as well, more than likely a rewrite of main sections including Administration, as well as cleaning up sections of code which have become redundant over time.

Also anew updated Manual both Online and Offline (PDF, HTML) version which will come in two forms as well, Developers and Users. Users Manual is a brief guide to getting up and running while the Developers guide is building Plug-ins, implementing with other systems or anything else.

For those that want an estimate on v1.0.0 we expect earliest July, August however we have nothing solid yet.

IE Bug

We have been doing some tests on the site and have noticed a Bug when using IE. We will be fixing this bug as soon as possible.

We also will be releasing v0.5.0 very within the next couple of days we have some minor bugs in Installation and upgrades which need to get fixed before the release. This release may stop some setups of WB News from working correctly we will be here to help with everyones concerns.

We seem to have very little downtime during our site maintenance, which we are also pleased to announce our new design has been uploaded there maybe a few bugs here and there which we havent figured out mainly design wise however we are happy with it.

The reason for the new design was because our old one wasnt very attractive and was extremely basic and hard to navigate. With this one we wanted it to be simple yet easily to be able to find what your looking for. We hope you enjoy it.

Scheduled Downtime

Tomorrow we are going to have a lot of downtime between 12-24hrs worth. We are trying to re-organise Webmobo and the server. During the downtime the WB News Downloads will be taken offline however we will try and get them up as quickly as possible. You can also keep in touch with Developers with the Forum, to post Bugs or ask for help, we will try and be on as much as possible however we will be quite busy during the downtime.

Bugs Database Closed

We have closed the Bugs Database and redirected all traffic too our Forums, to post instead of the Bugs Database. You do not need to register to post a Bug in the forums so do not worry about that.

Sometime during this week there will be some downtime for Webmobo and all traffic will be redirected to our Forums. We will be doing quite a lot of maintenance and putting up our sites new design as well as hopefully v0.4.0 or within the next few days afterwards.

Welcome to the New Year

We are happy to announce we are back and ready to kick start the 2005 and start back into WB News development very soon. We hope everyone had a good and safe Christmas, and for those that didnt in the Asia area we hope that you can find some joy soon.

We have recently also put a forum up we hope we can start and get some activity soon its there until we finish development of our own which will work a lot better with the site.

An outlook of the year ahead and we hope to have version 1.0 out for WB News within mid year (June-August) time there is quite a lot of work that will be done a lot of changes to be made to make it ready for a fully stable production News Script.

Webmobo Forum Announcement

We have installed PHPBB Forums as a temporary forum, we suggest that all users of WB News use this to get much of the latest information, we will be taking down our Bug Database within the next few weeks.

These forums will allow a much easier way to stay up to date with WB News and Webmobo, Report Bugs and also make suggestions for webmobo and WB News. We will be creating our own forum which will not be due until mid-late 2005.

WB News v0.3.0 Released

We have officially released the last version of WB News for 2004, we will begin more work on WB News after the New Year. With this there has been one addition a Spam Filter and two bug fixes

All of these have been fixed.

We will also be having limited support over the Christmas break between Decemeber 20th 2004 to 5th January 2005, we will try best to make sure Support requests are answered however we have no guarantees, so please try to report all bugs at http://bugs.webmobo.com we will also be trying to get our new design and a few other extras close to if not finished by the time we start the 2005 year off.

More on WB News v0.3.0

We have just on completed the WB News v0.3.0 which we hope to release as early as this week, we did say earlier that we would have it out within 2weeks, we actually fixed a few bugs which were much easier to fix then expected, we are currently running a few tests to make sure New Install and Upgrades work as well as sections are working as intended.

global file invalid entiries to check install

These have been fixed we have also added one new function into the News Configuration to stop spam, at the moment its quite a basic element it allows you to type words which you consider spam, if a post is a match to one or more words in the spam list its not displayed until you check that its Spam or not.

As we said above we hope to release sometime this week sometime from Wednesday onwards, there maybe some downtime due to a few Administration features we will also be implementing, and some website maintenence

Bug Found in BBcode

It has been brought to our attention there is a small bug within the BBcode when dealing with lists, this has been fixed for the upcoming release however this release is slightly delayed due to a few issues with database implementation.

WB News V0.3.0

We are on the way for completing the next version of WB News its been quite sometime since our last update, however we have been doing a lot of work lately developing quite a few things which will hopefully be finished early next year. Our new Design we were trying to complete before the end of the year has been put on hold for the time being we going to try and get that up and complete sometime early January next year.

The next release will be out hopefully as early as late next week however before christmas, we will also be taking a break during that period we will give more information about Support and Bug Reports and what will happen when we announce it, feel free to contact us about what is happening if you are curious.

First Plugin

We are currently building the first official plugin for WB News which will allow users to connect to different RSS 1.0 and 2.0 News Feeds and be able to quote them into there own News posts.

We also have version 0.1.2 on the way which will fix a couple of minor bugs.

We will be redesigning the site to be easier to navigate we have had a few users emailing us that come from hotscripts that they cannot easily find the downloads within a click. We are currently fixing this up, also this will help us for search engine spiders and placement. If you wish please feel free to link to WB News.

Also within the changes over the coming weeks and months we will be putting a forum up which is still being largely developed devoting a fair amount of time off WB News. We plan at least one more release of WB News before Christmas.

Help with Suggestions

We have a very small amount of ideas left for WB News mostly which are going to help it become much easier to use and also give this fairly small news system more power for the user. However we know that many users have there own ideas of what should be added so why not let your voice be heard.

We are looking for more ideas in which you wish to see in any of the next coming version of WB News whether it be improvement of organisation, speed, more sections, cleaner templating anything we are open to all suggestions as we are starting to decline in ideas, without turning this into a CMS.

Also we will be beginning to do some work on this site to upgrade it a little to make it easier to navigate if you wish to make suggestions for that as well by all means please feel free to add your comments.

Upgraded WB News to v0.1.0-gold

We have successfully upgraded to v0.1.0-gold the stable version which will be released to everyone tomorrow, we have installed it just to make sure that we have everything clear and in good working order. At the moment besides a fault of our own which we accidently deleted a few crucial files the upgrade went without a hitch and we hope that will be the same for everyone.

Remember to checkout your "Check Updates" link in your Administration Panel to see when the update has been released. We thank everyone again who have downloaded the Alpha this has made it quite a smooth transition from v0.06 to v0.1.0.

We have had over 200 alpha testers which we would like to thank who took the time to go over and see this new verison which comes out later this week. We also like to thank those that emailed us before the Alpha was released they have been a great help posting bugs in the bug database or reporting it directly to us we could not have done it without you.

We have also had a few developers that have wished to join the team unfortunately we have tried to keep the team as small as possible as there are 3 of us we will be looking for more developers in future and we thank those that have offered to give there services. For those that have emailed us we suggested maybe making modifications to the scripts to help us out and submit them back to us to give back to the community.

Once again a big thank you for all that have helped out this last week you have made our jobs a lot easier, with this we have an Official release date of Thursday 14th October for those that have versions 0.05 and onwards will notice that when they check there Check Updates Menu in there Administration Panel that it will be released as v0.1.0-gold.

Errors Occuring

It appears that the Upgrade for some reason has somehow damaged our config.php file. We have fixed it however it appeared to be affecting downloading we seem to have fixed it for now but seem concerned at how it just happened after working we will be keeping a close eye out to make sure it doesnt continue.

There are a few extremely minor bugs found in WB News v0.1.0-alpha these shouldn't stop the use if you are using it. Below is the list with fixes available in the gold release some time next week.

Display of No Comments when comments are Disallowed
User can register when logged in
Install using invalid characters gives Error (Affects all WB News Versions)
Table Prefix Missing in Admin Sections

All these fixes will be available the only main problem will be the last listed which is not major and only affects adding Administrator User and Ban IP.

WB News v0.1.0-alpha has been released much earlier then we anticipated. We have tested as much as possible the past few days so a good majority of the known bugs should be out.

Thank you to all that are emailing suggestions, and wanting to know about the release date for 0.1.0 just to let all know, WB News v0.1.0 is not in the proper development stage. Basically this means we are still planning, checking the latest release version for unreported bugs to fix.

With this we have built quite a list mainly of additions/modifications and a good majority of the known bugs and a few extras we have found which are quite minor and shouldn't stop users from using v0.06. For those that want to know the release date we look set for late November/early December, however we will be releasing hopefully Late October/Early November a alpha release which more then likely will not contain all features implemented and should only be used in development circumstances, this is mainly to find any bugs before Gold release v0.1.0 which will be out a little later.

We are also incorporating a 0 Bug Policy although we have used this Policy we are going to try and enforce it as much as possible

Bugs with RSS Feed

There are a couple of bugs within the RSS Feed. Such things that have already been point out in the Bugs Database however we have found a few others such as Feed Readers suggesting that the Feed is invalid. Which it is not however the feed is required to be on 1 line majority of the time there are escape characters making this a problem.

This will be fixed in the next version, as well as many other bugs that we have found and others. At the moment the Feeds are fairly useless so we suggest turning them off or not offering them at this time on your site will eradicate any people emailing you about this.

Update Server is Still Online

In WB News v0.05 we have found a bug. It has come down to small variable spelling mistake in the database. Please click here to download the patch, all you need to do is overwrite the usergroups.php file in your admin directory.

Finished Maintenance

We just like to say that we have managed to upgrade from 0.04 to 0.05 with WB News. We also did some maintenance to the site with a few additions because of the new WB news version which we will try and get out within the next 48hrs or so.

Webmobo downtime soon

In beta Mode

WB News v0.05 is in Beta mode although not completely finished at this point in time. We hope any bugs in complete sections are thoroughly worked out before we release v0.05.

v0.05 is a major upgrade from 0.04 which it has been rebuilt from the ground up, many changes within the database structure will need to be sorted out to make it a smooth upgrade.

All bugs in version 0.04 should be fixed as we will be testing within the next week or some when it should be completed. We expect to release the new version within 2weeks.

Server Change - Errors Fixed

It may have appeared earlier that there were some errors on the site, yes that is true we have no eradicated the problem which occured when the site was transferred to another server.

We hope there is no more downtime now however we are unsure at this point of time that there maybe another transfer of the site.

Since Wednesday we have been down, we finally came backup today we will be moving servers sometime during this month more then likely during the next 2weeks or so. So do expect a bit more downtime hopefully not to much.

The reason for the downtime is the data center that hosts the server is in a finacial mess. Im sure if you attend WebHostingTalk.com you would have most likely heard of it

More on Open_basedir

Users that still wish to use WB News and have PHP configured with open_basedir enabled if you have some PHP skills you should be able to fix this quite easy.

open_basedir is just a limitation of how PHP includes files. Unfortunately WB News doesnt support this to work. So if you go through the files and had the direct path to each include e.g.

home/username/public_html/wbnews where WB News includes its files you should have no trouble in getting it to work. If you want some help please email our support.

WB News no support for open_basedir

We apologise to all users with open_basedir ON within there php configuration. Version 0.04 and earlier will not support it. We will be looking into making sure these users can use v0.05 which we hope to be out in a couple of weeks with more features.

We apologise for any inconvience this may have caused. Please do not delete the installation as we will try and make a .htaccess file as a temporary fix. So please be patient with us.

Open_BaseDir Bugs

We suggest before installing WB News to check your php configuration to do this create a file with phpinfo() in it your host may have one of these files created if so its best to use theres. If they do not create one. Check the open_basedir setting if its On we suggest that you wait for a patch to be released.

A bug with this setting on has been found and we are doing everything we can for WB News to work correctly with the setting on. If its off or no value please feel free to use WB News it should work correctly.

We apologise for any inconvience this may cause, as we try and fix this bug. We hope to release a patch later this week.

Bug Fix

We have now released a bug fix for WB News v0.04. When using the Send to Friend there is a missing argument in the code giving errors. We have now updated the zip the download that users from this date forward will not require the upgraded file.

If you require the file please use this new news.php you will be requried to overwrite your current news.php and replace it with this one.
